Steve Poland, Chairman
Steve joined Prime Photonics and Prime Research in 2009 as CEO and
President. From 2005-2009 Steve served in various roles with Baker
Hughes ProductionQuest including Director of Optical Systems, North
America Sales & Operations Manager and Director of Mergers and
Acquisitions. Before Baker Hughes, Steve served as VP of Commercial
Projects for Luna Innovations as well as VP of Engineering &
Technology for Luna Energy, where he led the development and
commercialization of multiple fiber optic product lines. Steve currently
serves on the Advisory Board of the Virginia Tech Bradley Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering, holds 4 US patents, and has over
30 publications. Steve received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical
Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Dr. Russ May
As a founder, Dr. May has served on the Board since it was created in
2002. Dr. May has over 25 years experience in fiber optic sensor and
communications technology development for military and commercial
applications. His background includes employment at ITT, Martin
Marietta, and ADC Telecommunications, and he was an original founder of
Fiber & Sensor Technologies (now Luna Innovations). Dr. May is a
founder of Prime Photonics, and previously was research faculty at
Virginia Tech's Center for Photonics Technology. He received B.S. and
M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in materials
engineering, all from Virginia Tech.

Glenn R. McColpin
Mr. McColpin joined the Prime Board of Managers in 2010 and is Vice
President of Pinnacle's Reservoir Monitoring business line, which was
acquired by Halliburton in October of 2008. Mr. McColpin manages the
worldwide implementation of Pinnacle's fiber optic, microseismic and
micro-deformation solutions for use in long term reservoir, waste
injection and CCS monitoring projects. Mr. McColpin previously worked
for Landmark Graphics where he held various positions in product
management, consulting and sales. He earned a B.S. in Petroleum
Engineering from New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico.

Mike O'Neill
Mr. O'Neill joined the Prime Board of Managers in 2010. In 2009 Mr.
O'Neill completed the Clean Energy Fellowship Program run by the New
England Clean Energy council, and works with a variety of start-up
businesses in the Boston area. Prior to his work with the NECEC, he
joined AMI Semiconductor in 2005 which was acquired by ON Semiconductor
in 2008; post acquisition Mr. O'Neill served as VP for ON, leading ONs
Military/Aerospace & Communications product group. In the early
2000s, Mr. O'Neill spent 4 years as a general partner at Kodiak Venture
Partners, investing in early-stage technology companies and working with
entrepreneurs to build their businesses. Mr. O'Neill also worked for
Philsar Semiconductor, which was acquired by Conexant Systems in 2000,
and started his career with IBM where he worked from 1987 to 1997. He
has a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Dr. Gary Pickrell
Dr. Pickrell has served on the Prime Board of Managers since 2002 and
is currently Associate Director for the Virginia Tech Center for
Photonics Technology and an Assistant Professor in the Virginia Tech
Materials Science and Engineering Department. Prior to joining Virginia
Tech, Dr. Pickrell was the Technical Director, and served on the Board
of Directors for Porvair Advanced Materials, one of eight companies in
the Porvair Group with annual sales of approximately $140 million. Prior
to joining Porvair, Dr. Pickrell was the General Manager for Materials
Technologies of Virginia, a small high tech materials company. From
1989 to 1994 Dr. Pickrell worked for Corning Inc. and began his career
as a research and development engineer for Owens Illinois where he
developed and/or patented several new products for the microelectronics
industry. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering Science from
Virginia Tech and also holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Ceramic
Engineering from Ohio State University.

Dr. Dan Sable
Dr. Dan Sable is the co-founder and President/CEO of VPT, Inc., a leading producer of high reliability DC-DC power converters for military, aerospace, and satellite applications. In this role, he actively participates in all aspects of the company, including finance, sales and marketing, product development, operations, and legal. Dr. Sable oversaw the sale of VPT to Heico in May, 2009. Dr. Sable began his career in 1978 as a Senior Member Technical Staff for RCA Astro-Electronics in Hightstown, NJ. He was also assistant professor of electrical engineering technology at Trenton State College (presently Trenton College of New Jersey). Dr. Sable earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, has 4 patents and over 30 publications. He has served as chairman of the Virginia Tech Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Industrial Advisory Board, is a registered professional engineer, and serves on the board of directors of several organizations. |

Walter Daub
Mr. Daub has served on the Prime Board of Managers since 2009. Since
retiring in 2003, Mr. Daub serves as a small business counselor with the
local chapter of SCORE and belongs to the Northeast Angels, a New
Hampshire Angel investment group. From 2000-2003 Mr. Daub served as COO
for Luna Innovations where he led the launch and sale of the Luna Energy
and Luna iMonitoring commercial spin-offs. Prior to joining Luna, Mr.
Daub was President and CEO of the CFE Company, a 50/50 joint venture
between GE Aircraft Engines and Allied Signal Aerospace. Starting his
career with Sikorsky and subsequently Bell Helicopter, he spent the
majority of his career with General Electric, beginning in 1976 as an
engineer with GE Aircraft Engines. For GE, Mr. Daub served in a variety
of technical, operational and management roles leading up to his
promotion to CEO for CFE Company in 1995. Mr. Daub holds B.S. and M.S.
degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, and an MBA from
Harvard Business School.
