Leveraging a significant amount of experience developing photonic-based acoustic sensors for military and commercial applications, Prime Research announced today that it is collaborating with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to commercialize fiber optic acoustic sensor systems using advanced algorithms to detect and locate partial discharges in medium and large power transformers for the utility industry. This collaboration is the final phase of an R&D and commercialization program that EPRI has been developing since 2000. |
