As the fuel cell industry demands greater flexibility and reliability of its instrumentation packages, Prime Research has established a fuel cell sensor initiative within its Energy and Industrial Business Unit to commercialize a family of fiber optic sensors specifically suited for the harsh environments experienced in Solid Oxide (SOFC), Molten Carbonate (MCFC) and Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells.
This initiative is focused on the sensor needs of both the commercial and military fuel cell industry and is aligned with the requirements of the Department of Energy SECA fuel cell program for distributed power generation. Additionally, sensors developed under this program will have immediate application on Army, Air Force and Navy fuel cell systems.
