$ 594,261 Phase II Department of Energy Program Awarded to Develop Fossil Fuel Sensors
(March 11, 2005)

Prime Research announced today that it was awarded a $ 594,261 Phase II contract for the continuation of its ongoing program with the Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory (www.netl.doe.gov) to develop a suite of fiber optic sensors for the harsh environments found within the industrial and utility fossil fuel industry.

The fiber optic sensor systems developed under this program will also integrate into the Department of Energy’s Clean Coal Power Program as well as the Instrumentation Sensors and Control Systems (ISCS) program framework. Other applications for the high temperature sensors developed under this program include: gasification, combustion & high temperature heat exchange, fuel cells, turbines, boilers, syngas conversion to fuels & chemicals, gas separation, gas purification and environmental control technology.
