FOCIS Turbine Blade Monitoring

FOCIS™ (Fiber Optic Clearance and Identification System) is an all optical system for monitoring turbine blades on gas and steam turbines.  FOCIS™ makes real-time blade-by-blade measurements, identifying and tracking individual blades for health monitoring and providing blade passing, blade clearance and engine tachometer data.

Prime has ongoing development efforts to further expand the FOCIS™-based diagnostics including blade erosion, foreign object damage (FOD) detection and real-time blade stress analysis using non-intrusive stress measurement system (NSMS) techniques.
